Jindabyne Scavenge (NSW)
On Saturday the 14th of September, we cleaned up a massive 570kg or litter from Jindabyne and it’s surrounding areas. That included 150kg of recycling, 100kg of scrap metal and 320kg of waste!
We couldn’t have done this on our own. There were 101 participants, 11 volunteers, 2 community groups, 3 musicians, a massive 20 local businesses and an one local council that made the Scavenge such a great day!
Snowy Monaro Council supported the Scavenge in its third year in Jindabyne and held a stall at the event to promote the 5 R’s - Refuse, Reuse, Reduce, Recycle & Rot. Along with the council we had a small Boomerang Bags stall and the Jindabyne Lions Club was set up with a sausage sizzle in the park.
The people of Jindabyne rallied there businesses in support of the Scavenge and we could not have pulled this off without the help of each and every one of these legends! Below is a list of all the businesses that supported us this year.
Of course we can’t forget the legends at the Banjo Paterson Inn that donated beers to the hardworking Scavengers and fed our hungry volunteer team after the event. The Banjo put on pizza and beer for the event which went down a treat! Thanks legends!
